Stream plays intro, stops, restarts stream

The stream I listen to has a intro to it before the actual radio station starts.  Here is the URL for the stream: http://mozart.wkar.msu.edu:80/wkar-fm-mp3  It starts playing, plays the intro, then says that it "completed" then starts buffering and playing again getting the intro.

This used to work fine a few days ago.  I have a Droid X phone and the only thing that changed is that I upgraded to the Gingerbread release.

This is an issue with a particular intro audio clip merged into the live feed.  The broadcasters tools are merging the audio frames incorrectly and some Android phones seem to choke and not be able to recover from out of sync audio frames.  That is why on some phones such as yours this is an issue.  I'm currently looking into how this can be resolved.

Thank you - I didn't used to have a problem with this station.  Do you know if this could have been caused by Gingerbread or do you think the station recently changed something?  If you think the station changed, could you provide me more technical details about what is causing the problem?  I can forward it to the station to see if they can correct it.
Also, I've discovered that this isn't only in your application, but seems to be any application that streams media has the same problem.
This is a problem possibly on Gingerbread and also on the Broadcasters side.  If before you didn't hear an intro on the station, than the Broadcasters just added this feature and also have caused the issue.  If it always had the intro, than most likely this is a Gingerbread bug with not being able to recover from bad audio frames.
The station has always had an intro cut and before it played fine - I am leaning towards Gingerbread since after that update is when I noticed it starting to have problems.

Yes very likely... I have posted this issue to Google/Android bug reports that has to do with this issue. http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=17320

You can also try our internal stream engine see if that works better.   Just remember it's beta state.  You can switch to the internal stream engine by going to setting->advanced users.

Just wanted to confirm that the internal stream engine works fine.  Which is great that it solves the issue for your application, now to figure out how to get my other streaming apps to work with it.  I am also contacting the station to see if they have any input.
