Fixing so CheapestStream Streams Will Play

Chris Haslage 12 years ago updated by Jona (Lead Developer) 12 years ago 10
I have a stream with CheapestStreams and they have an output that mimics ShoutCast, though XiiaLive won't play it:

Not sure if it's a bug on their end or yours, but I figured I'd pose it.  Thanks!

There seems to be something wrong with the AACP decoder you are using? It doens't decode properly on PC Winamp program and also the app is having issues.  One thing I did find was that we didn't have the mime audio/aacp declared on our app manifest to report to Android that we support this media type.
Not a bug

Thanks for the reply.  The actual stream does work in VLC, not sure if that helps or not. :)

Are you still having issues with this stream? I have tried again using the URL but its gone. Please let me know! Thanks!

Hey, sorry took a bit long to respond... Link is still not working :( error 404 file not found... Both Winamp and VLC.

Of course now my stream is down, found out last night, so of course it doesn't work when you want to see it in action. ;)

The good news is that it worked in v3 when I tried it! :)

Here is another stream for you to test with:

Great! Thanks for the update! I was able to test the link and it works! :)

Have you thought about playing FLV encapsulated streams on Xiia?  Just an idea. ;)

If you have a link I could give it a try see what it would take...

A few examples:

http://listen.spacial.com/api/listen/?mount=SAM01AAC21&method=flash

http://uk5-pn.mixstream.net:80/studiohits?type=.flv

The encapsulation is just that, a way for Flash to know what to stream it.  The actual content is inside the encapsulation.  Should make it easy.

Secondly, I do want to talk to you off-site about a project that you may be interested in.  Can you contact me via email at kilokahn@gmail.com or skype chaslage?
