Thanks for your feedback! Currently only mp3/mpeg streams support seeking and clicking the cue points. We are working on a more advanced stream engine that will support just about any format! I think you have a good idea to place a little message or warning the user when a stream doesn't support seeking.
Please make sure you have XiiaLive v3.0.3 installed. On that version we changed how we manage audio focus. If ignore audio focus is enabled all audio events are simply ignored. If you are hearing the audio lowering then it must be the Android OS automatically for notification events.
Yes, that was something we thought of doing but it will actually really complicate the process of keeping the favorites synced across devices.
That for the feedback. Generally when email notification sounds are triggered by the OS XiiaLive would duck the volume a little and after the sound is played it would raise the volume back up. Did you notice the volume regain at all?
What device do you have and what android version is it running?

Update 08/01/13:
It has been a little while since the previous reply for this. We did complete cloud sync but the costs to maintain was kinda unknown and seemed a bit high. We got a little spooked since Xiia doesn't make that much money and adding servers costs could have been a bad choice. We are however now really considering taking a leap and providing cloud sync and see how things go. We will announce any updates on this on our social media accounts.

We are almost done with our own cloud sync service. This will keep all your favorites and tags in the cloud :). Along with that if you have multiple devices all your data will sync across those devices.Update 08/01/13:

They indicate that you can swipe to another screen. That other screen is the playlist. Some stations provide a playlist full of URL links to their various servers. This allows you to see them and pick another.
