ASUS Fonepad custom URL fails to play

Rainer Peffm 11 years ago updated by Jona (Lead Developer) 11 years ago 6

I use an ASUS Fonepad w/ Android 4.2.2. Adding playlist URLs works  fine. But everytime I try to add a .mp3 or .ogg stream URL, it verifies ok, then tries three times then says  cannot play. When adding the URLs to TuneIn they work alright right away. sam

Thanks for your feedback. Are you able to play the stations provided by the app?

I was able to add this URL and play it without any issues. What exact errors are you seeing?

If you can reproduce the issue and right away do a bug report it would be really helpful! To do a bug report simply go to XiiaLive->Settings and scroll all the way down and click Bug report.

the same URLs are accepted and also played on my Android 4.1.3 Medion Lifetab.

I use the latest free xiialive version from the market on both.

after having added the new URL

http://wdr5-ogg.akacast.akamaistream.net/7/232/199784/v1/gnl.akacast.akamaistream.net/wdr5-ogg

it is verified ok.

Then I start the stream.

I get the following reaction on my ASUS FonePad with Android 4.1.2:

CONNECTING --> INIT STREAM ENGINE FAILED ( six times )

MAX RETRIES REACHED ( finally - stream is not started )

The stream can be added in TuneIn on this ASUS fonepad and runs there alright.

It can also be added AND RUN OK under XiiaLive on another Android system of mine having Android  4.0.3 on it.

I will open a xiialive bug report with the same text ...

Seems like there is an issue with the stream engine. I'm finishing up our latest stream engine and should be a lot more stable and support seeking and pausing. Possibly to be released in the next month or two.
