Issue with stream on port 80

DjTunes 13 years ago updated by Jona (Lead Developer) 13 years ago 10
Hi,
i have bought xiialive and i'm a happy customer.

I'm also administrator of a webradio and i use a dedicated stream URL to listen to my radio on port 80.

http://mjtunes.com/mjtunes80.pls
http://mjtunes.com/mjjradio.asx

StreamItAll on iphone can stream correctly the first URL but Xiialive on my Android can't play both correctly.

The buffer takes time and play just Few seconds and the buffer starts again.
Also, when i try To stop xiialive it does not respond.

I have no issues with my regular stream URL but i want to purpose port 80 to my listeners using ANDROID phones.

Thank you.

Regards.

Richard.

Have you tried using the internal stream engine?

You can turn it on by going to XiiaLive->Settings->Advanced users and selecting Internal stream engine to ON.

We are almost ready to put out an update that will add metadata support to the internal stream engine.

 Hi,

thank you for the answer.

Ok with Internal stream engine to ON but now it stops after 25sec.

I would like to suggest something: can you add a way to type a stream URL directly into xiialive app.

Thank you.

Regards,

Richard.

You can add a cuatom URL to your favorites easily by going to favorites an all the way down on the list pressing the + add favorite button.  I guess an option to just play the URL would be a good one too...

wow that's nice :D it's because i never favorited a radio ... so yes maybe an option to just a play an URL would be good.

Anyway i really hope XIIALIVE should play my stream on port80 very soon :D

Stream engine to ON does not really fix the issue :(

Thank you and keep up the good work.

Regards.

I tried both streams on my phone and on Winamp for PC and they both worked but after a little bit they stop playing.  There seems to be some issue with your station and I'm not sure what it could be.

Oh Really so maybe it's because XIIALIVE with Stream engine to ON send one one those user agent :

Known ripper found: Ares for pointer 18. Banning successful!
Known ripper found: Lavf for pointer 15. Banning successful!

?

Winamp is listed too as not allowed to stream our radio.

Thank you.

Regards,

Richard.

That is something very interesting. I didn't know about that kinda of banning... Thanks for your feedback on this issue.

 You're welcome :D

So it's "Lavf" (listed as not allowed to stream our radio) the user agent sent by XIIALIVE with Internal stream engine to ON, and this is the user agent with Internal stream engine to OFF :

Dalvik/1.2.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.2.1; HTC Wildfire Build/FRG83D

Thank you.

Hello,

since the last update of XIIALIVE (2.2.3) I cannot stream anymore these URL :

http://mjtunes.com/mjtunes80.pls
http://mjtunes.com/mjjradio.asx

Even i have removed Lavf user agent as know ripper from my script and even i set Stream engine to ON.

XIIALIVE error message is : lost connexion.

Before updating XIIALIVE it was possible to stream for almost 30sec.

Thank you.

Regards,

Richard.

Thanks for the update.  There seems to be an issue with the icy metadata.  I'll try to see if the one developer in charge of the internal stream engine can see what is possibly going wrong.  I tested with internal engine to OFF and I was able to stream.

Oh yeah with strean engine to OFF it's ok but ok still the issue with buffer :(

Well i hope issue with stream engine to ON will be fixed to make it workin :D

Thank you again.
