My device is displaying the following error:
android media failure:what:-38 extra:0
Device: Motorola Atrix TV XT-687 Android 4.0.4 ICS - Brazil
Issue should be resolved when the new stream engine is released. No ETA for the release of this new stream engine but we are actively working on it.
Does this happen with MPEG or AAC streams?
I have the same issue on a Motorola Droid RAZR with Android 4.0.4 ICS in the US. I've had it happen on AAC+ streams such as http://provisioning.streamtheworld.com/pls/WRBQHD2AAC.pls and http://ministryofsound.sharp-stream.com/playlists/listen.pls.
We are working on a new streamer that hopefully fixes bunch of these issues... Have you tried using the FFmpeg streamer? You can switch to it by going to Settings->Stream and changing the Stream engine to FFmpeg from Android.
I had not. That helps quite a bit. It takes a CPU (and therefore battery life) hit, but as long as it's connected to a power source that's a non-issue.
I'm looking forward to the new streamer! Thanks for the update.
