I love this app, but I have a need for streaming audio in the ASF/wMA format. Is there a release date for this functionality?

We have someone working on this currently. It has taken time to make it stable enough to release. We hope to get at least beta support hopefully next month...

Update 05/13/11:

Update v2.1.8 has been release and support wma streaming! :) Please note it's in early beta stage :)

I think this will be the app of choice for streaming from Orb to Android once wma is supported.
Do you guys happen to have some urls to stations that are wma? We like to take a look at these streams... Thanks!

I can give you access to my ORB server if you want to try it. It generates a stream.asx file for play lists from your home computer so you can listen to your music on-the-go.. Just email me if that can help.

Here are some ASX stations:
http://www.wbgo.org/listennow/wbgo.asx
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/listen/live/r4.asx
http://tvulive.com/player/radiou.asx

Hello all following this particular post.  Please email us your IMED or device ID at support@xiialive.com.  We have a beta version ready to be sent out in the next few hours and I would like you guys to give it a try.  It supports wma/asx/asf.

I tried the new WMA support with this url:
http://somafm.com/wma/groovesalad.asx

Couple of things I noticed though:
  1. On the "Favorites" screen it says "ASX" but not the bit rate
  2. It stopped playing after a few minutes and would not reconnect - got "buffering 95%" then "request timeout"
Another thing:
  1. The url http://somafm.com/wma/groovesalad.asx is working again after exiting XiiaLive then getting back in
  2. I tried the url http://somafm.com/wma128/groovesalad.asx which played but somehow it plays the Groove Salad mpeg stream?!?
Thanks for the feedback!  In the development process I noticed that many asx playlists would contain mpeg links and not expected asf or wma links.
