rtmp/audio only flv playback?

Matt Tsui 7 years ago • updated by Jona (Lead Developer) 2 years ago 5

I have several stations in rtmp protocol with .flv container (mp3 coding). Normally it requires Flash Player in order to play. However, the playback is interrupted when the screen turns off or go elsewhere in the browser.

I would like to know will xiia add rtmp protocol so these stations can be played with xiialive player?

Example: Digital Broadcast Corp http://dbc.hk and the Channel 6 (music channel) streaming link:

rtmp://58.64.197.165/live<break>dbc6

RTMP is currently supported. Some bugs are currently preventing it from working. However update v3.3.1.11 will fix it.

Wow.. this is an old post and never replied! :/

Would love to add rtmp support. Do you have any working URLs I can use for testing? Thanks!

You may try this link Jona:

rtmp://88.190.41.98/vidafm

This is a brazilian radio. I am trying to hear it on my android phone.

Thanks for the link. I have tried it on VLC player but I can't get it to work. Is that the correct URL?

Hello Jona. You are right, this URL is not working for me too.

I found some info in the Adobe website:

You can try to take a look at this link: http://flash.flowplayer.org/demos/plugins/streaming/audio-live.html

There is an example stream there. The URL is specified as

            url: "flowplayer.rtmp-3.2.12.swf",
netConnectionUrl: "rtmp://stream-7.antenne.de/liveedge",
I don't know how to extract the URL from this, but it seems to be rtmp://stream-7.antenne.de/liveedge/flowplayer.rtmp-3.2.12.swf or just rtmp://stream-7.antenne.de/liveedge
