Frequently losing streams

Hi

I love this app and use it to listen to a couple of radio stations, but it’s losing the streams several times most days - it seems to stop streaming almost when the wind changes direction, which is incredibly annoying and inconvenient. I use it in a mostly very strong signal area.

If I listen to the stations using the station’s own apps it’s fine – no dropouts, no stutters, no hiccups or skips. However, if I listen to the same stations using Xiia Pro it results in ALL of the above problems, i.e. dropouts, stutters, hiccups and skips.  It even happens with Xiia when using WiFi, only 9m - 10m from the router and the tablet/phone sitting on a table, not moving!

What is going on?  Why can the radio station apps keep the stream and Xiia can’t?

I’ve tried using it on a 3G Nexus 7 tablet (Android 4.3) and two different phones – HTC Desire C (Android 4.0.3) and Huawei Ascend Y300 (Android 4.1.1) on T-Mobile, 3, Vodafone and Virgin mobile networks, and the results are the same on them all.

It’s Xiia Pro 3.0.2.5.

Thanks

Some questions for you:

1. Could you provide the URL to the station you are having issues with?

2. Did you notice similar issues with other stations from SHOUTcast?

3. What audio format and bitrate is the station? MPEG or AAC?

4. Are you using the FFmpeg stream engine? If you don't know what that is then most likely you aren't...

PS: Sorry for the delayed reply.
