Native support for Android Auto and/or Apple CarPlay

Scott Ramsay 9 years ago updated by Eric Miller 5 years ago 18

XiiaLive Pro works great with my Sony Z3 Compact, car's Bluetooth and steering wheel controls. However with Android Auto, I would love to control and view XiiaLive advanced features with my car's touchscreen.

This is an old thread, but ...

I just was introduced to Android Auto in my new Honda. I've used XiiaLive Pro for years, and was disappointed to see that it is not aware of Android Auto....

It would be so great to see the app updated to work with Android Auto, I'm NOT liking Tunein Radio at all :(

Hi Rick! As of the moment, we don't support Android Auto. It's a high priority feature that our developers wants to add on a future update. Thank you!

Hi, I have been using xiialive for years, and I own the pro version, Android auto support would make me very very happy :)

I will also love it if we will find in the near future the native support for Android Auto. This would be a great PLUs for the app. I do not want to switch to any of the Google Apps. No I do not want this.

This would be the feature that is top of my list. I have used the pro version for years, and it has been my go to app in the car, but now with a new smaller car, my phone is plugged in to android auto and tucked away instead of out where I use its controls.

Android Auto no longer requires a "compatible vehicle", but instead offers an enlarged simplified phone interfaceappropriate for in-car use. Default music apps are Google Play and Pandora, but many others may be added. Sadly, XiiaLive Pro is not yet among the options. Let's remedy that ASAP, yes?

i have the pro app and would love to see Android auto support.

Mostly just playback controls and probably just the ability to pick from items in favorites.

So it's been a while, and android auto/carplay are supported by a lot more vehicles, any progress being made to add support?

Also a Pro user. XiaaLive has been my preferred app for streaming for years. Bought a car with Android Auto builtin a few months. Would really like to be able to use XiaaLive with Android Auto.

Has there been any progress on this?

Any updates on this? it's been 2 years!

3 years and still no Android Auto support??

Yep still waiting here too, in the meantime, use VLC(current version does not support Android Auto, previous and future versions do), or Open Radio(current best choice I'd say, tho not the prettiest app), I really love Xiialive too, and I am a pro user, but I am also a software engineer, I'd guess that either they just won't add Android auto support due to restrictions of the Android auto platform(it would not look as nice due to click restrictions), or that the engine they used or created would need major updates, or the app would need to be completely remade. Of course if the developer would like to respond, that's cool, otherwise I would not expect Android Auto, or Carplay support.

I think three years is a good time to deliver Android Auto which was priority for your development.

Please let us know if it is going to be done in 2018?

At this point I wouldn't expect Android Auto in this app, read my previous post for alternatives, know though for VLC you would have to find one of the older versions that support it, they have not added Android Auto back to their newer versions.Open Radio is great for internet radio streams though.

May 2019 still no Android auto integration!!

time to go with another option I think man, old version of vlc only have Android auto for now Google made them remove it due to an exploit or somthing, open radio (Chernyshov Yurii)works good.
