Thanks for reporting this and providing your findings. This does seem like and Android bug. Effectively turning ON Power saving mode and turning OFF the screen causes WiFi connection to be lost.

I have found an open ticket with similar issue to this on Android bug reporting site.

When the power mode is enabled, the system may limit background connectivity or disable the WiFi when the screen is off

In Android 5 that did not happen, are there anyway the application can be reprogrammed or trick to avoid it to stop working ?

This app already have the feature that prevent Wi-Fi from sleeping or turning off (even "Keep Wi-fi on during sleep " is set to never), so It sound like a OS bug. try to use other streaming apps and turn off the screen to see if it happen

Wi-Fi sleep bug: https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=190667

Tried Tunein Radio, same issue.

Hi,

In battery optimization ( in battery use ) I was able to deactivate the power saving mode in data , now seems to be working even if the screen is off and power save mode activated.

I was going to tell you that, but i thought power saving mode in data was only avaliable for Sony device so i didn't tell you to disable it, but yeah... good to know that you solved the problem.

Have a nice day~
