Very interesting... I'll give it a try. I'm wondering why the app would do a lot of work when the screen is off? I don't think it does but there might be something and I'll take a look. In regards to CPU usage the peaks I see with the screen on and everything is around 20-30% usage which is really not a whole lot... Lowest usually around 7-15%.

Thanks for the details! One thing that could help me greatly to understand the issue is if you can reproduce it and right away capture the error logs. To do so is very easy. Take a look at this post:

Yes you can actually add it to your favorites by going to this website from your phone and search for a station:
Once you hit play a popup will come up asking which player you want to use. Pick XiiaLive and then add it to your favorites so that you don't have to go to the website every time.

Hi, sorry for late reply! The unlimited retries should work with Wifi or 3G. Could you provide the exact scenario to reproduce the retries to stop working? This seems more like a bug actually :)
