Welcome to the official XiiaLive support forum! You can ask questions and get direct support from the developer.

Please note that we are a team with one developer and one graphics designer. We like to personally answer posts but aren't always able to do so as quickly as we would like to. In order to help us become more efficient, please follow the steps below when posting new questions, ideas or bugs.

Please post under one of the following:

If you have a question or idea, start by typing it in the box provided and search below under similar topics to see if you can find an answer. If you don’t find an answer then simply post a new question or idea.

If you spotted a bug and you want to let us know about it, first try searching for OPEN bug posts with similar issues and add any details you think might help us with it. Also, make sure to up vote the OPEN bug post so we know how critical it is. If no OPEN bug posts are found simply post a new one.

Hi Lukie! This is really nice to have on your PC. Our developers have been testing a porting method to use the app via Chrome browser. No ETA or promises just looking into it. Thank you!

I love this app, but I have a need for streaming audio in the ASF/wMA format. Is there a release date for this functionality?
Jona (Lead Developer) 6 years ago

We have someone working on this currently. It has taken time to make it stable enough to release. We hope to get at least beta support hopefully next month...

Update 05/13/11:

Update v2.1.8 has been release and support wma streaming! :) Please note it's in early beta stage :)

Just upgraded HTC EVO 4G to Android 2.3.3,  My XiiaLive app is now extremely slow to connect to a stream.  It now requires in excess of 45 sec to connect when prior to the upgrade was just a few seconds.  XiiaLive shows buffering at about 75% during the time it is attempting to connect.  It finally does connect and than seems to play with no issues.

The slow stream start is do to some changes on the Android Media framework, go figures... :(  In any case that is why we are working to make our own "Internal stream engine" our default.  Please try installing XiiaLive Beta from the Android Market.  This contains many changes and fixes for both Android stream engine and our own Internal stream engine.

Update 11/02/11:
Using the Internal stream engine is the main solution if this issue is encountered on some phones.  The new versions of Android OS have officially added this issue.  On some phones is not a problem while on others it is...

Any chance we could record streams on wi-fi for later playback to avoid data usage charges? This seems to be about the only major function missing from this great app!

Caching radio stations for later listening would be great. We would like to do it but since we are partnered with SHOUTcast there are some legal guidelines we need to follow. Part of those guidelines are not to record the broadcast content. We currently have a few ideas that could in some way resolve the issues you mentioned, we are left to present them to SHOUTcast for approval.

What really would be great is that you add a Equalizer to the programe. I have a headphone that needs some other settings that standard. Please add this!

Android 2.2 and higher now supports EQ. In the future we will be providing a more advanced set of options.

I would love to see shortcuts to my favorite stations. That way, I could have a collection of shortcuts such that with one tap I could start listening to specific stations while driving.

Thank you!
Jona (Lead Developer) 6 years ago
Favorites shortcuts are available for paid version.

To add a shortcut:
1. Long press the home screen and hit shortcuts.
2. Find xiialive favorites icon and press it. That will take you to the favorites list.
3. Choose the station you like and a bottom edit box will show to allow you to change the title of the shortcut.
4. Click accept and that's it!
Not a bug

My HTC Wildfire slows down the cpu when the screen locks, which causes the audio to stutter. But I still would like to "lock" the screen so as not to accidentally touch it. Also dim or turn off the screen backlight to save battery too if possible?

I'm officially closing this bug. We have tried various ways to make this work and its just a device problem. Also, the latest release of XiiaLive v3.2.0 no longer supports this device. We now support Android 2.3 and greater. Sorry for any inconvenience it might cause some of you.

It would be cool if I could just find the album on the amazon store with a single click from the tagged tracks list.
Jona (Lead Developer) 7 years ago
This is a great idea! We definitely want to give this option to our users. :) Thanks for your feedback!
