The reason why we have the stream engine switch option is described under the settings (?) help button.
"Allows picking the default stream engine to use when streaming MPEG, AAC, and AAC+ audio formats. All other formats will be streamed by the FFmpeg stream engine."
It shouldn't matter what engine you have selected, wma format will always play on FFmpeg. Do you have a particular URL which is having issues?
