app stops responding to headset controls when paused

When I. Pause the playback on my bluetooth headset after a few seconds playback will not resume when play/pause is pressed only the app button works. Running lollipop 5.0 on a note 3, 4.4.2 on a zte go phone, and jellybean on a epic 4g touch. Same on all devices. It didn't used to do this. Also can a option to disable next/previous with button press on Bluetooth headset be added. I keep bumping the buttons on my headset and changing stations. How about adding do nothing to the app control.
