What device do you have? and what Android version is it running? Collecting the logs for this error could help me figure out what could be the cause.
Could you reproduce the issue and than collect the logs? The logs would allow me to see where things are breaking. To capture the logs is very easy and it's done all from within your phone.

This is one of those issues that are caused by Android Media Framework. There is no real way to improve this on some devices. I have tried many times. The only solution is using the FFMpeg stream engine. This engine will soon support seeking and pausing.

Car mode has been in our minds. We have designed the landscape view to more or less be used while in the car. What exactly do feel it's not perfect currently for car use? Thanks!
