Sorry, sometimes I can't get to all posts quickly. I'm the developer and support person. :/
Thanks for your feedback. It almost sounds like the device CPU usage is overloaded?? XiiaLive uses very little CPU 3%-8%. Could you have other apps running in the background? It could also be a device hardware defect.

Please try using the FFmpeg stream engine just to check if potentially it is an issue with hardware or the Android OS. To change to FFmpeg go to XiiaLive->Settings->Stream and change the stream engine
Yes! We plan to support that format soon! It will be supported once we release our latest stream engine hopefully before the end of the year. Also, we will be adding the icecast directory support on the app soon.
Thanks for your feedback. Shortcuts currently don't support storing the authentication data for security reasons. I will look into this to see if I can include authentication data securely.

I'm not sure why you would get invalid URL after clicking on the shortcut. I would have thought at worst it would ask for the username and password again. Could you reproduce the issue and right after go to XiiaLive->Settings and press on "Bug report". This should hopefully provide enough details to figure out what is going on.
In general we recommend not to backup the apk of the app specially the paid version since it tends to messup the licensing checks and can cause these types of issues. The version you have is the one from Amazon. I think you should be able to reinstall the app without being charged again. Simply use the same Amazon account to download it.
Prior to the announcement of Winamp closing we have been working to switch to a new directory as our default called UberStations. We are very excited about this new directory since they are actively adding stations and improving the search and real-time song updates on all stations.

We will continue to support SHOUTcast for as long as they are available to the public. I highly doubt SHOUTcast will simply go offline. It is something that just doesn't make sense.
This issue has been reported by some users using Samsung S4. We are trying to get a Samsung S4 device to be able to test and understand why this is happening. My guess this is a bug on the Android OS for this particular device.

Thanks for your feedback. Your idea is interesting and I know that there are some radios that do just that, play music of independent artists. I don't remember their names but I know they are out there.

You can always create your own radio station and play the music of these undiscovered artists. Here is a guide on how to add a radio station.
