Hi Jan, The paid and free versions use the exact same code for streaming. Just to understand better your issue let me ask you a few questions.

1. What phone do you have? and android version is it running?
2. Just to be clear the stream doesn't go into buffering state is just drops correct?
3. Can you try streaming stations of MPEG and AAC format? Let me know if you are still experiencing issues with both? Can you also try lower bitrates?

Thanks!
Thanks! It's really nice to read your feedback! Hope you enjoy the next upcoming updates! Spread the word! :)
There are over 40,000 stations available via XiiaLive. The stations come from SHOUTcast.com. We don't have a list of all the stations. You would just search for them by most listeners "top hits", genre, or search.
Thanks for the warning. I'll add a disclaimer to the work around. I also strongly recommend not changing settings around if you don't know what you are doing. As long as you change what is strictly defined above you will be fine... and there is no reason why it should mess up your phone.

"This program fails because Sprint can't / won't allow mp3 streaming overseas. Pandora does not allow overseas ips either"
Not sure this is valid. I can suggest yeah Sprint doesn't want streaming on phones, but I just think it's a bug introduced by HTC. Pandora is a completely different subject to the issue, essentially the issue is HTC broke the ability to create LocalHost proxy ports which communicate with the internal MediaPlayer.
Working on the next update as I write this :) I hope to have a larger buffer. What phone do you have?
The first thing I see is that the particular link is not to the actual station. I tried looking to find the url link to the station and I did but the format that it's being broadcast is not supported by XiiaLive. We currently don't support Windows Media streams but will support it very soon!
