Bug on HTC Wildfire

On the new release 2.1.8, the program keeps force closing when I try to play any stream type. The message appears right after it starts buffering but it is playling the stream until I press Force Close.

Could you please capture the error logs right after the force close happens so that we can verify the issue?

Strange soundeffect when stream starts

I'm using a new phone (Galaxy S2 plus) and install XiiaLive on this phone again but everytime I start a stream it starts with a strange soundeffect. How can I put that off and where?

There are over 40,000 stations available via XiiaLive. The stations come from SHOUTcast.com. We don't have a list of all the stations. You would just search for them by most listeners "top hits", genre, or search.

uberstations display

In addition, Uberstations directory view displays the song name in the first, bold line, and the station in the second, faint line. This disturbs me. For Shoutcast the first line was  station name, the faint line is song name, which made more sense to me. I'm sorry to say that I prefer ShoutCast and hope the best for its future.
I put this comment into "Bugs" as it best fits . This is about the directory, not the player pane. Thanks in advance for consideration.

Thanks for your feedback! Yes, song is showing at the top for this particular directory. The main reason was that the directory is based on real-time song updates. This is still early stage for the UberStations directory but it will be growing as we move along. Maybe later on even add an option to swap the info around to look like SHOUTcast directory.

Mobile Broadband Selection

Maybe it's a special problem/wish focused on Switzerland ... Most mobile provider in Switzerland include mobile broadband 4G/LTE with a volume-limitation of the usage. 4G/LTE is nice for apps needing fast connection. But it's not necessary for streaming audio/radio. It's quiet uncomfortable to switch the smartphone's general bandwith for streaming audio/radio to prevent from reaching the volume-limitation too fast. Therefore it would be nice to be able to use the app settings to configure which frequency band (4G or 3G) should be used when streaming with mobile broadband.

Hey thanks for the request and sorry for taking this long to reply. I understand what you are saying and see how it is useful. I'll put this on our internal list for review. Can't promise we will implement it but at the least we will take a look see if it's something we can easily add.

Hi Thomas! Apologies for our late response. At this time the one that we'll be supporting is the Android Auto. Maybe in the future we'll look into integrating Mirrorlink with the app. Thank you!

Answering calls while streaming

Hi, I have been consistently experiencing problems with different releases of XiiaLive Pro (currently using v3.3). Whenever I listen to a radio stream and somebody calls me, I get the stream pause as expected, but I cannot hear anything at all. I am told that they other party can hear me all-right. This happens in 100% of cases. I am using HTC Desire SV (Android 4.0). Please note, that this is similar to a previously reported bug: http://support.xiialive.com/topic/535344-lg-enact-phone-call-audio-stops-working-after-playing-over-bluetooth/, but has not been solved for me by newer releases of the App.

We have plans for win8 app! :) I have no estimated time when we would have it complete but once we do for sure we will post it on our facebook and twitter accounts.

Always visible "Home" button for Beta

Having used your previous version extensively, I found it convenient to be able touch the XiiaLive banner that was present on most parts of the previous version to return to the home screen quickly.  At times I found using that function and then accessing functions directly from the home screen to be quicker and easier than sliding to the toolbar to the function I needed.  I suggest incorporating this same type of always visible "home" button into the new version so that users don't have to slide the toolbar to the home button every time to access the home screen.  If used perhaps the home button currently on the toolbar wouldn't be needed?

Thanks for your feedback. Your concern is valid and let me explain a bit why we changed things a little.  


We essentially wanted to simplify the design and maximize the space for the lists of stations and the player.  By combining all in one menu bar we eliminated the old bottom menu bar and provide a bit more space for other things.


We definitively want to keep your suggestion in mind and will see how to possibly make going home a bit faster.
