Do you or anyone else support Blue Tooth for listening to the radio on Samsung or any other Android phone?

David Marshall il y a 14 ans mis à jour par Angel Maclean Ulriksen il y a 9 ans 4

I have the Samsung Galaxy Android and I use Bluetooth.  I have a tried one app for listening to the radio but it will not play through the Bluetooth earpiece under any setting. The phone works very well with Blue Tooth.  Samsung support says that is up to the developer of the APP to provide Blue Tooth support.  Does your APP support Bluetooth?  Additionally, can I receive Canadian AM broadcasts such as CBC, etc. on your APP?  Thanks for any feed back.

Solution
Tim M il y a 14 ans

Well it depends on your bluetooth device...

Most ear pieces don't support music streaming and aren't stereo.
They only support low bitrate and mono (good for voice calls) so it won't work for listening to music.
If your device does support music streaming though, you can listen to xiialive through bluetooth :)
First (you might have already done this), you have to pair your bluetooth device with your phone.
You can do this by going to your >phone's settings >wireless & networks >bluetooth settings (the location of bluetooth settings might be a little different on your phone).
Once you have your device paired up with your phone, go to xiialive and press on >settings >advanced users >bluetooth options
If your device shows up on the list, it means you have paired it up correctly to your phone. You can tap it to get more options.
You might also have to turn on the "media controls" by going to >settings >user experience.

Phone fails to switch between 1X/3G/4G while streaming

solo9999 il y a 13 ans mis à jour par Jona (Lead Developer) il y a 11 ans 5
Hi,

Samsung Galaxy Nexus running ICS 4.0.4, Verizon.

I noticed that if you start streaming on 1X, the phone never switches to 3G/4G. Or if you start streaming on 3G, it would never switch to 4G. However, if the speed goes down a level , it will drop for let's sat 4G to 3G. I don't have this problem when the app is not streaming. It seems to get stuck on the speed the stream was started and it won't let the phone go up a level even though coverage is available.

Thanks.

We have done a lot of testing and research. The main issue seems to be with Android OS radio drivers. This is something we are unable to resolve on our side. Newer versions of Android seem to have improved in regards to this issue.

Backup & Restore should include all settings

Marc Knaup il y a 11 ans mis à jour par Jona (Lead Developer) il y a 11 ans 0
It's annoying having to reconfigure the whole app any time I reinstall it or switch the device. That includes app settings as well as per-screen configuration (e.g. sorting of favorites).

Having them part of the backup & restore process would be awesome :)

Thanks for the idea. I think it is interesting to provide such a feature. I will look into it.

Solution

Thanks for your question! You must become a broadcaster in order to have your mixes played. If you like to create your custom radio you actually can! Check out this link for more information!

Problem playing asx stream

Claudio Alonso il y a 14 ans mis à jour par Tim M il y a 13 ans 5

Hi, I'm trying to listen the following url:

http://streaming.metro951.com/metro

But I keep getting the following message: "stream engine init failed"

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

--Claudio

Solution
Tim M il y a 13 ans
It's because the url is not in the right format :)
It needs to end with something like .mpeg or .asf
Add any of these two to your favorites :)

BOOST MOBILE HTC EVO XiiaLive DOES NOT WORK

David Billings il y a 14 ans mis à jour par Jona (Lead Developer) il y a 14 ans 0
XiiaLive does not work on HTC/EVO outside of WIFI... SPRINT PROBLEM? BOOST IS ON SPRINT NETWORK (Same provider) Same problem. Major Issue is BOOST does NOT support HTC/EVO and technical support is almost nonexistent for supported phones. Just getting to a live person for support is almost impossible. XiiaLive need to write a fix for the audio problem or refund for the android app widget. Not Shoutcast or XiiaLive's fault if Sprint is blocking the use of audio players. I think it's Sprint as they are underhanded and want to milk every penny they can out of the public.
Solution
Jona (Lead Developer) il y a 14 ans
So you are having the same streaming issue as Sprint users except you are using your EVO on Boost Mobile.  Have you tried getting the password from Sprint? Call them and give them your phone info to try to get this password.

We are working hard to bring a brand new stream engine that will always work and never again have these issues...

Again the Sprint fix link:

XiiaLive now has constanly running background process taking up memory

WPWoodJr il y a 14 ans mis à jour par Jona (Lead Developer) il y a 14 ans 5
The latest version V2.1.8 runs a background process taking up significant memory on my Droid X, even when I am not using XiaaLive.  I tried stopping it but it starts up again.

Maybe this process is to support Bluetooth controls when XiiLive is not in active use and "Media Controls" is set "on"?

Can you please please exit the process when XiiaLive is not in use and "Media Controls" is "off"?
Solution
Jona (Lead Developer) il y a 14 ans

Ok, this one is a bit complicated for a lot of users to understand and I completely see why...

Once you stop the music everything is shutdown and nothing is working on the background. When you take a look at running services you will see that it is not running. However if you look at the running processes you will see XiiaLive. Because you see a process it doesn't mean is running. Android keeps these processes in memory just in case the process needs to run right away, making things load up faster. If more memory is needed Android removes these cached processes right away!

Update 05/20/11:

- v2.1.9 is out and improved few areas.  Please provide your feedback. :) Thanks!

"Onradio.io" ad instead of station logo ?

Peter K il y a 9 ans mis à jour par Jona (Lead Developer) il y a 9 ans 1

Hi,

Since a few days ago I notice a rather strange behavior of my Xiia live pro app.

Instead of the stations logo picture the logo of "Onrad.io" is shown.

Please have a look at the screen shot.

Image 73

This is so annoying. Is it an ad or is it a bug?

This happens with all radio stations. After a few seconds the station's logo

turns into the onrad.io logo. Display of the record's cover works though.

I use version 3.3.0.4 and Android 5.

Thank you

Peter

Solution
Jona (Lead Developer) il y a 9 ans

Thanks for reporting this issue. This logo deal should have never been shown on XiiaLive. We have resolved this issue and should hopefully no longer be shown when playing stations. If you do notice it again please let us know.
