more information on status or connection speed.

Razor Jack hace 12 años actualizado por Jona (Lead Developer) hace 12 años 6

could you add some more information on buffer status? or average stream download speed (for example, last 10 seconds).
so people can know, how fast is a connection at the moment and is there any chance to listen to a radio without skips.

i'm using XiiaLive Pro often in my car, EDGE/UMTS/HSPA not always is so fast :)

Great post! Well currently you can see where the buffer is at with respect to the current playback position by looking at the seekbar. Please see the following post about that:

http://support.xiialive.com/topic/156141-how-seekbar-works/

About the current download speed, "baudrate", you can see info on the home widgets. The widgets contain 5 little bars that indicate the health of the connection for the required amount of data to be downloaded for the stream. Having less then 3 bars means your network speed can't keep up with the required download speed. If you have XiiaLive Pro, you can use the Stream stats widget that shows the actual baudrate value.

In the near future we do want to add a better way for you to check the network download speed from within the player.

Can't find sleep timer on iOS version

Beth Signor hace 10 años en iOS actualizado por Bryan Poteet hace 5 años 3
I've used the sleep timer a lot on my Android tablet. I have a new iPhone 6 and just installed xiialive (paid version). Works fine except I can't find the sleep timer or alarm. I looked at old posts here but they don't help. There's no "timer" written sideways above the volume bar.

Thanks for your feedback. We currently don't have sleep timer available for iOS. However, we have it planned for next release.

please make the Play and Stop buttons much larger.

Cpo hace 11 años actualizado hace 11 años 1
Many of us are over 40 and no longer have perfect eyesight. The buttons are too small unless you are an ant. But for me, with imperfect eyes and always on the go, I don't want to stop and use a magnifying glass to see what button am pressing. Plus the small view and widget view should have LARGE BUTTONS.

Empty favorites and cannot add to favorites

Jörg hace 13 años actualizado por Jona (Lead Developer) hace 12 años 1
Hi,

on my HTC Hero with Android 2.1, the "Favorites" are always shown as empty. When I open a stream from the browser and choose XiiaLive as the player, it does play the stream, but I cannot tap the "+" button to add it to favorites.

The stream is http://mp3.streampower.be/klaracontinuo-high.mp3

Thanks for any hints!

Delete alarm

Scot Wilcoxon hace 12 años en Android / Alarms actualizado por Jona (Lead Developer) hace 12 años 0

How do I delete an alarm? I find several ways to edit an alarm, but not how to delete a scheduled alarm. (This becomes important until the New Years Bug is confirmed as being fixed or as only happening on New Years Day.)

Respuesta
Jona (Lead Developer) hace 12 años

To delete an alarm you go into settings->Alarms. Once there long press on the alarm you wish to remove and press remove.

This is definitively an area that needs a bit more of improvement. Thanks for your post.

Utilize 60 minute buffer in car without cell service or wifi

Kev Levin hace 11 años 0
Hello,
Is there a way to listen to the 60 minute buffer cache without cell service or wifi? Is there a setting to put the paid version on so you do not get a connection timeout and lose your buffer cache!

I do not have cell service so I wanted to cache 60 minutes in the buffer over wifi and then listen to the 60 minute cache in may car without using a cell service.

New Google Play policies

Darkdrium hace 13 años actualizado por Jona (Lead Developer) hace 13 años 0
I'm putting this in requests, not because I personally request it but because Google does.
The new Google policies do not authorize apps to ask for personal information about users to unlock additional functionalities. Unfortunately the beta version of XiiaLive falls into that category (Or I believe it could).
My personal request would be for you to remove those features so it doesn't get reported and pulled, yeah? I kinda like the app and stuff...
Here are the new policies. What I'm talking about is Ad Walls.

Buffering Questions

DonpK hace 11 años actualizado por Jona (Lead Developer) hace 11 años 5
I have a couple of questions about buffering.

When listening to a live radio stream, if Pre-buffering is set to, say, 10 seconds and a station is selected, I would expect a delay of at least 10 seconds before hearing audio. In fact, I hear audio within a second or two. Why is this?

If the "Buffer length" is set to, say, 40 seconds, when a live stream is selected I would expect a delay of at least 40 seconds for the buffer to be filled before I hear the first audio. As mentioned in my first question, I hear audio within a couple seconds of selecting the station. Why is this?

I read in an earlier post elsewhere on the forum that FFmpeg stream engine, which appears to be the default, does not support buffering. However, that was 10 months ago. Have things changed since then?

Here is a little background about buffering settings I recommend reading.
http://support.xiialive.com/topic/283567-understan...

Something interesting to know is that some stations send a burst of audio data when initially connecting. The audio burst can range up to 60 seconds or higher. This means that a 10 second pre-buffer setting will get filled very quickly. The buffer setting is not used for the initial connection as you will see on the provided link above.
