alarm not working in sleep mode

Manne 11 years ago updated by Jona (Lead Developer) 10 years ago 1

I have a cheap noname tablet with the latest android on it. The problem I am experiencing is that the xiia alarm fails to work as soon as the tablet is in sleep mode. This makes the alarm pretty useless for me. Since I can't seem to find anyone else with this problem I figure it's a hardware issue? Does anyone know what the problem is, and is there a fix or work-around (besides keeping the screen on all night)?

Thanks a lot!

Some Android devices, specially tablets, can go into a deep sleep. When they go into this deep sleep alarms wont work as you have seen.  We have done some research to try to work around this but havent found a proper solution. We have set this issue on our to do/ to fix list.

Great feedback.  Thanks for your ideas, I would love if we could do this! Only problem is well not enough time to work on it :(...  However we are doing a new release of our app soon that contains 2 skins and the potential to open it up for designers to try making their own skins...

Bring back old style car friendly design

Please can we have the large volume and start stop controls back for tablet landscape mode. This is ideal for vehicle use and the new player controls are too small.

Thanks for your request.  We will be looking into designing a more car friendly player hopefully soon.

Audio muted when equalizer is turned ON

Jona (Lead Developer) 10 years ago in Android / Equalizer updated 10 years ago 1 2 duplicates
Currently there is a bug which is only seen on some Samsung devices. The bug causes the audio to be muted when the equalizer is turned ON.

After some research we discovered that this is a bug comes from the Android OS running on these Samsung device. There has been various confirmation from users that after a new Android update the issue had been resolved.

Please let us know if you are having this issue and provide your device name and Android version.

Cannot stream from VLC

Anonymous 14 years ago updated by Jona (Lead Developer) 13 years ago 0
I'm trying to stream audio from VLC to xiialive, but I keep getting an unsupported format error. I'm using VLC 1.1.4 on Win7 x64, streaming over HTTP, and I've tried the built-in transcoding options for AAC and MP3. Both streams can be played by Windows Media Player or VLC on another computer. As far as I can tell, the stream from VLC is the same as any stream from the Shoutcast directory. Do you have any suggestions?

Could you somehow capture the mime type of the stream? It could be possible that the mime type on the HTTP header of your server response is invalid type...

Alarm fails to schedule in Beta version

John Frazer 12 years ago updated by Jona (Lead Developer) 12 years ago 2
I am not able to set an alarm in XiiaLive Beta.

I downloaded the app from Google play.
I restore my existing play list from released(paid) version.
I then went to settings, Alarms.
+Add Alarm
changed the time to a couple of hours in the future.
Selected a Station from my play list.
Pressed save.

Error message: Alarm failed to be scheduled!

This is a on an XPERIA X10i v2.3.3 with standard SEMC ROM.

I have now rooted the phone, but the out come is the same as it was on the standard non-rooted version.

Other features in the beta version work OK...that I've looked at.

Clear Channel Radios

Rob Prescott 13 years ago updated by Jona (Lead Developer) 13 years ago 0
Is it possible to add clear channel radio stations to the player i.e. like star 101.3 wild 94.9 etc...

I am currently using iheartradio in addition and would like to uninstall the crappy app.
Answer

Yes you can actually add it to your favorites by going to this website from your phone and search for a station:

Once you hit play a popup will come up asking which player you want to use. Pick XiiaLive and then add it to your favorites so that you don't have to go to the website every time.

Problem Saving Multiple Custom Streams on iOS...

Big Mouth 10 years ago in iOS updated by Jona (Lead Developer) 10 years ago 2
On the free iOS version of the Xiia, I am having trouble saving multiple custom streams. I can usually save two or three with no problem. But more than that and new streams start replacing existing streams in favorites. I have never encountered anything similar in the Android version. I am using Version 1.0 with iOS 7.1.2.
