Cannot stream from VLC

Anonymous 14 years ago updated by Jona (Lead Developer) 14 years ago 0
I'm trying to stream audio from VLC to xiialive, but I keep getting an unsupported format error. I'm using VLC 1.1.4 on Win7 x64, streaming over HTTP, and I've tried the built-in transcoding options for AAC and MP3. Both streams can be played by Windows Media Player or VLC on another computer. As far as I can tell, the stream from VLC is the same as any stream from the Shoutcast directory. Do you have any suggestions?

Could you somehow capture the mime type of the stream? It could be possible that the mime type on the HTTP header of your server response is invalid type...

Alarm fails to schedule in Beta version

John Frazer 13 years ago updated by Jona (Lead Developer) 12 years ago 2
I am not able to set an alarm in XiiaLive Beta.

I downloaded the app from Google play.
I restore my existing play list from released(paid) version.
I then went to settings, Alarms.
+Add Alarm
changed the time to a couple of hours in the future.
Selected a Station from my play list.
Pressed save.

Error message: Alarm failed to be scheduled!

This is a on an XPERIA X10i v2.3.3 with standard SEMC ROM.

I have now rooted the phone, but the out come is the same as it was on the standard non-rooted version.

Other features in the beta version work OK...that I've looked at.

Clear Channel Radios

Rob Prescott 13 years ago updated by Jona (Lead Developer) 13 years ago 0
Is it possible to add clear channel radio stations to the player i.e. like star 101.3 wild 94.9 etc...

I am currently using iheartradio in addition and would like to uninstall the crappy app.

Yes you can actually add it to your favorites by going to this website from your phone and search for a station:

Once you hit play a popup will come up asking which player you want to use. Pick XiiaLive and then add it to your favorites so that you don't have to go to the website every time.

Problem Saving Multiple Custom Streams on iOS...

Big Mouth 10 years ago in iOS updated by Jona (Lead Developer) 10 years ago 2
On the free iOS version of the Xiia, I am having trouble saving multiple custom streams. I can usually save two or three with no problem. But more than that and new streams start replacing existing streams in favorites. I have never encountered anything similar in the Android version. I am using Version 1.0 with iOS 7.1.2.

Widget text color options

Denvernate 11 years ago updated by Jona (Lead Developer) 11 years ago 0

I've been hoping you'd add this for a couple years now, but it's still not available.  Can you add an option to change the text color in the widget from blue to white?  It's so hard to read the text in the widget, especially when in a car dock driving around in sunlight.  The black background/dark blue text is not enough contrast to make it easy to read.  Other than that, I really like this app!

Thanks for your feedback! Yes, widgets are not the best at the moment. We will review them and improve them sometime beginning of next year. They are do for an extreme makeover we just haven't had enough time to work on them.

RTSP & MMS Protocols?

TurboNed 14 years ago updated by Giancarlo 9 years ago 6
Can you tell us when RTSP & MMS protocols will be available through XiiaLive application for Android Market, please?
Answer
Jona (Lead Developer) 14 years ago

We currently have something working but it's very very beta... Hopefully we can release beta support at ends of January. Hopefully sooner. Do you happen to have an RTSP url we can use for testing?

Update 05/18/11:

v2.1.8 now supports mms and mmsh.  Not sure if RTSP... you could give it a try.

Hello, most likely you have moved the application to the SD card. Once you do that the widget will not be visible. This is not a bug but a design flaw in Android OS.

ASX BBC Radio stopped working with "Unexpected error"

nicojx 14 years ago updated by Jona (Lead Developer) 14 years ago 0
Hi,

I've been using XiiaPlayer Lite for some time to listen to BBC Radio 4 on the URL http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/wm_asx/aod/radio4.asx.

Since about three weeks I can't get the stream to work. Any attempt to play results in immediate and repeated "Unexpected error". Any idea what to do?
Answer
Jona (Lead Developer) 14 years ago
The stream might have been down.  I just tested and it is working properly.  Please try again and if you are having issue.  If you still have an issue, please reproduce the issue and collect the logs. The logs can help us see what is going on.

To collect the logs is fairly easy:
