Recording

Any chance we could record streams on wi-fi for later playback to avoid data usage charges? This seems to be about the only major function missing from this great app!

Caching radio stations for later listening would be great. We would like to do it but since we are partnered with SHOUTcast there are some legal guidelines we need to follow. Part of those guidelines are not to record the broadcast content. We currently have a few ideas that could in some way resolve the issues you mentioned, we are left to present them to SHOUTcast for approval.

HTC EVO 4G after upgrade to Android 2.3.3 is slow to connect

Troutcacher 13 jaar geleden bijgewerkt door Jona (Lead Developer) 13 jaar geleden 2
Just upgraded HTC EVO 4G to Android 2.3.3,  My XiiaLive app is now extremely slow to connect to a stream.  It now requires in excess of 45 sec to connect when prior to the upgrade was just a few seconds.  XiiaLive shows buffering at about 75% during the time it is attempting to connect.  It finally does connect and than seems to play with no issues.

The slow stream start is do to some changes on the Android Media framework, go figures... :(  In any case that is why we are working to make our own "Internal stream engine" our default.  Please try installing XiiaLive Beta from the Android Market.  This contains many changes and fixes for both Android stream engine and our own Internal stream engine.

Update 11/02/11:
Using the Internal stream engine is the main solution if this issue is encountered on some phones.  The new versions of Android OS have officially added this issue.  On some phones is not a problem while on others it is...

Add capability to work as a media app with Android Auto

I use Android Auto app while driving, (https://www.android.com/auto/) They have the ability to add Media Apps, of which there are a lot. Would be nice if XiiaLive was one of them.

It would be great if an Equalizer was added.

What really would be great is that you add a Equalizer to the programe. I have a headphone that needs some other settings that standard. Please add this!

How about shortcuts to a specific favorite stations?

Anoniem 14 jaar geleden bijgewerkt door Jona (Lead Developer) 13 jaar geleden 5
I would love to see shortcuts to my favorite stations. That way, I could have a collection of shortcuts such that with one tap I could start listening to specific stations while driving.

Thank you!

Favorites shortcuts are available for paid version.

To add a shortcut:
1. Long press the home screen and hit shortcuts.
2. Find xiialive favorites icon and press it. That will take you to the favorites list.
3. Choose the station you like and a bottom edit box will show to allow you to change the title of the shortcut.
4. Click accept and that's it!

Is xiialive still under development?

Philipp 6 jaar geleden bijgewerkt door hornetster 3 jaar geleden 4

Hello,

There are no updates for xiialive since very long time and the homepage is no longer reachable.

Therefore, I think that xiialive will not be further developed and that the developers will let the project die.

Can anybody confirm this? I would be very sorry if it is so.

Although the player works great, I miss features like Android Auto support or the ability to sort the favorites list.

Android Auto

brkcanuck 6 jaar geleden 0

I'd love to see XIAA for Android Auto. It's the one media player I use regularly. Wish I didn't have to disconnect from Android Auto to make it work in the native Android UI. Even if it was the paid version, I'd buy it.
