To prevent suspend after while retrying connect

Menghua Cheng 12 years ago updated by Jona (Lead Developer) 12 years ago 3

while my wifi bandwidth is not good, xiialive (pro) sometimes just stop playing the music even I checked the "unlimited retry" option. but I found the music stream continue playing after I wake up the phone by  unlock the screen, in the time I saw the buffer always shows about 93%~95%. I suspect the app just lost the wake lock since xiialive is buffering and not playing.  so could you add a force "wake lock" option in the settings page? or enable wake_lock when "unlimited retry" option enabled? add whro

In general it is helpful if a more detailed question is posted.  In this case I assume you are looking for a station called WHRO.  I would recommend you go to http://vtuner.com/setupapp/guide/asp/BrowseStations/Searchform.asp and find it there from your device. Allow XiiaLive to open the link and save it as a favorite.

Commercial / station intro keeps looping - cannot listen actual stream.

murekepaiva 10 years ago updated by Jona (Lead Developer) 9 years ago 3
Hi! I´m using Xiia Live Pro version 3.1.3 on HTC Desire Z (Android 2.3.3). Commercials/intros before the actual stream are okay, but my Xiia keeps looping just and only the ad. I cannot listen the actual stream. This is the stream I'm trying to listen to http://radio.radiohelsinki.fi/listen.pls and also this one http://www.psychedelik.com/flux/tunein-psy.pls . Am I using some wrong settings or why is this happening?

Alternate Bluetooth Controls for cars

Wired 13 years ago updated by István Nagy 8 years ago 2
Would it be possible to add an 'alternate bluetooth control method' option for use in cars so that:

- Pressing 'Previous Track' button toggles between the last two stations played
- Pressing 'Next Track' button to tag current track (Tag Me).

As the UI is great but not exactly car friendly, I thought this would would be a good workaround and be easier than having a more car friendly UI created from scratch!

Thanks

Thanks for your feedback. Mapping controls to actions sounds like a great idea. I'll put this as planned.

Stops playing after a # of songs finish playing

Dale Coffer 11 years ago updated by Jona (Lead Developer) 11 years ago 0

Why does xiialive pro and the regular one always stop playing after a # of songs finish playing?  Sometimes it will stop n the middle of a song.

Answer
Jona (Lead Developer) 11 years ago

Playback of a station shouldn't stop after playing so many songs.  There could be a lot of reasons why it might not be working.

Some questions for you:

1. What device do you have and what version of Android is it running?

2. What phone company are you using?

3. Does this issue happen when connected on WiFi?

4. Does this issue happen with all stations you find? If just one stations please provide more info about the station such as a URL.

Certain stations allow local commercial s to be played and this app should be commercial free. Who do I scream at?

Csanad Barczy 11 years ago updated by Jona (Lead Developer) 11 years ago 0
Certain stations allow local advertising. I thought Xiia Pro was free of commercials. Who should I contact about that?
Answer
Jona (Lead Developer) 11 years ago

The advertising you hear comes directly form the broadcasters. We can't control that. They are inserted by some streaming server that might load relevant ads for your location.

AAC/AAC+ stream isn't working on Lg gt540 (android 2.1) .

mateo 13 years ago updated by Jona (Lead Developer) 12 years ago 15
I tested many radio stations but it can't play any of them. I used XiiaLite v2.1.6. When I try to listen to AAC stream, it connect and buffer and then it drop connection and again conncet etc.
Answer
Jona (Lead Developer) 13 years ago

We are currently looking over some issues with AAC streaming on Android 2.3 and this issue is similar to the one seen on the LG phone.

Update:

Could you try the newest version of XiiaLive v2.1.7? I placed a couple minor fixes that could do the trick on your particular phone running Android 2.1.  Let me know! :)

Update 06/02/11:

Update v2.1.9 brings a lot of optimizations. Please checkout this new version. Also, try using the internal stream engine. That might work for streaming AAC content.

Alarm creates unresponsive black screen

Sean Colgan 9 years ago updated by Ralph 8 years ago 2
Huge fan, love the app! I have a bug report for you.

Alarm feature works in that it begins playing the selected stream at the right time. The UI though is totally black and unusable. The 'app select' button (square) is still there and usable so I can get myself out of the app and continue using the phone normally. The notification drop down controls also still work, but that's the only way to turn off the player at that point, the normal UI is unusable.
