Bluetooth Audio Stream is not pausing when having a phone call over bluetooth

Pam B 7 years ago updated by Tania Van Assche 5 years ago 7

S4 Android 4.2.2: Bluetooth Audio Stream is not pausing when having a phone call over bluetooth (Toyota Touch&Go Audiosystem). Instead the music is getting even louder.

Any Idea?

Jona (Lead Developer) 7 years ago

Are you still having issues with this? Currently, we are not pausing playback when an incoming phone call is received we are simply muting the volume. I'm guessing that maybe the bluetooth device is doing something which is causing XiiaLive to unmute. Could you reproduce the issue and right away go to XiiaLive->Settings and tap on Bug report.

In the next future updates we will start pausing media playback upon receiving phone calls.

Player cache erased after data guard kicks in?!?

orconomix 5 years ago updated 4 years ago 4
Why is the player cache erased after the data guard kicks in? Isnt the purpose of it to buffer the stream so one can take outside of the wifi zone?
I buffered 20 minutes of stream and had the player on pause so i can listen to the stream on the bus.
But as soon as i lost wifi the pre cached stream was lost too.
I hope you guys fix that. What is the use of a cache if it is deleted when one needs

This has been resolved. It will be part of the next release v3.3.1.6 this weekend! :)

Any chance of Android auto integration soon? Love the app and use it everyday and this would be perfect!

Any word on when support for streaming WMA/ASF will be released?

Seanf 9 years ago updated by Jona (Lead Developer) 9 years ago 10
I love this app, but I have a need for streaming audio in the ASF/wMA format. Is there a release date for this functionality?
Jona (Lead Developer) 9 years ago

We have someone working on this currently. It has taken time to make it stable enough to release. We hope to get at least beta support hopefully next month...

Update 05/13/11:

Update v2.1.8 has been release and support wma streaming! :) Please note it's in early beta stage :)

HTC EVO 4G after upgrade to Android 2.3.3 is slow to connect

Troutcacher 9 years ago updated by Jona (Lead Developer) 9 years ago 2
Just upgraded HTC EVO 4G to Android 2.3.3,  My XiiaLive app is now extremely slow to connect to a stream.  It now requires in excess of 45 sec to connect when prior to the upgrade was just a few seconds.  XiiaLive shows buffering at about 75% during the time it is attempting to connect.  It finally does connect and than seems to play with no issues.
Jona (Lead Developer) 9 years ago
The slow stream start is do to some changes on the Android Media framework, go figures... :(  In any case that is why we are working to make our own "Internal stream engine" our default.  Please try installing XiiaLive Beta from the Android Market.  This contains many changes and fixes for both Android stream engine and our own Internal stream engine.

Update 11/02/11:
Using the Internal stream engine is the main solution if this issue is encountered on some phones.  The new versions of Android OS have officially added this issue.  On some phones is not a problem while on others it is...
Will be answered

Any chance we could record streams on wi-fi for later playback to avoid data usage charges? This seems to be about the only major function missing from this great app!
Jona (Lead Developer) 9 years ago
Caching radio stations for later listening would be great. We would like to do it but since we are partnered with SHOUTcast there are some legal guidelines we need to follow. Part of those guidelines are not to record the broadcast content. We currently have a few ideas that could in some way resolve the issues you mentioned, we are left to present them to SHOUTcast for approval.

It would be great if an Equalizer was added.

What really would be great is that you add a Equalizer to the programe. I have a headphone that needs some other settings that standard. Please add this!

Android 2.2 and higher now supports EQ. In the future we will be providing a more advanced set of options.
