After update lots of stations I used to have don't load
http://support.xiialive.com/topic/595343-what-happened-to-the-howard-1005-and-1015-streams/
Please note that some stations might go down and some times they do come back up. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Reconnection issues with ASX streams
When roaming and switching between WLAN, 2g and 3g, the stream you listen to needs to reconnect. Although on all versions of android the latest 2.2.4 player skipps the phase of creating playlist and tries to reconnect right away.
When you start connecting to the below stream it creates a playlist first, then connects. Upon connection drop, i need to go to the favourite menu, pick another station in my list, then that one does create a playlist and then connects. I cancel that stations connection and switch back to my original channel i was listning to. Now it DOES create a playlist and then connects without a problem.
Can you rewrite the program / reconnect function to completly reset itself on connection drops?
| 3FM | Windows Media | WMA | 32kbps | http://livestreams.omroep.nl/npo/3fm-sb |
31kbps ASX 44,1Khz 2ch
P.s. this also happens when i take out my headset, the xiia stops playing (as i configured that in its options). But to reconnect to the stream later again, i can not press play, i need to select another station first to "reset" the internal engine i guess.
Previous versions of the player did not have this issue, been using the program quite a long time now and well basicly only listen to the one dutch radio station above :).
Note also that when i got packet loss, xiia will just wait till it receives again and coninue playing, which is good. But on network switching well..it involves taking the phone out of my pocket and click and point here and there :)
thx in advance, hope you guys can look into this and i have supplied you with enough details to locate the problem, otherwise just ask, i keep testing :)
It's been a while since your initial post. We are kinda now trying to catch up with all forum posts... :) On XiiaLive v3 we have upgraded and resolved multiple issues. Are you still having issues?
crash while browsing directory : international : asian
Tap genre -> international -> asian, then start scrolling down. After a couple screens full of stations, the app will close with "Unfortunately, XiiaLive Pro has stopped."
Happens every time.
Beta stops playing music - unable to restart it
This issue should have been resolved in the latest release of XiiaLive. If you are still having issues please let us know.
Improve UberStations genre
such as different styles of jazz/classical for example.. you could also add live 365 directory to make up for shoutcast closing.
Force close
II have installed, uninstalled and reinstalled xiia the latest version on my galaxy nexus but I always get force close...
Anyone else with this issue or hire to solve it?
Hey thanks for the feedback. What version of XiiaLive? v3.0.2.2?
If you can reproduce the issue and collect the logs would be great! If you don't know how to collect the logs its fine don't worry... You can also report the crash issue with a message stating that you have posted about it on this forum. This way I can easily find the issues and try to fix it.

Xiaalive disappears as banner ads are loaded
When I begin playing a station from the PLAYER screen, everything works as it should until the app disappears (but keeps playing), exactly as if I had pressed my phone's HOME button. The station continues to play, and I can reactivate the app as I would any other app that had been exited by pressing the HOME button (by re-selecting it from the app menu or by selecting it from my phone's pull-down active app list, for example). However, it will usually quickly disappear again and the whole process must be repeated. This usually happens several times before the app finally becomes more stable (after a few minutes).
It seems to have something to do with the loading of some of the banner ads that appear at the bottom of the screen. When I first start the app and begin playing a station (ANY station), the area at the bottom of the screen is blank- there is not an ad there yet. As soon as an ad does appear, the app invariably disappears (as I said, it's as if I had pressed the HOME button). When the next ad appears, it usually happens again. Once the initial ads are loaded and active, the problem usually becomes less frequent. Note that I only experience this bug when viewing the PLAYER screen. If I start playing a station and then immediately switch to any of the other 8 screens (Home, Talk, Music, Local, Search, Favorites, History, or Settings), operation works properly and the player doesn't disappear, even though the same ads display on those screens too.
Also, the problem only happens when I use the app in portrait mode. If I turn my phone sideways for landscape mode, the app works flawlessly in PLAYER view and all other views (Interestingly, no ads ever appear at the bottom of the PLAYER view when in landscape mode, although they can be seen in all of the other views).
I think I have gone through 4 revision upgrades, but the problem has persisted through all of them so the time has come to post this bug report.
My phone is a Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX (not the HD model) running Android version 4.12. Xiaalive didn't work with the previous Android version either.
My question is this: If you can't or won't fix the bug, do you think the paid version, which I assume will have no ads, will work properly on my phone? I have no objection to paying for this otherwise fine app, but I would like some assurance that it will work correctly.
By the way, I use the player almost exclusively for listening to OTR (Old Time Radio) shows and other talk stations. The built-in equalizer, which many other players don't have, is valuable for adjusting the sound of the often lousy audio of old radio programs.
