Buttons disappear on landscape mode (Android 4.0.4)

When i rotate my tablet to landscape, the buttons disappear. This problem only happen on Xiialive 3.3.1.4. I'm using classic dark theme

Unsupported media e:-12 when using HTTP instead of http

I have found that when hard coding a favorite, make sure you dont hard code the url as HTTP... make sure your phone doesnt auto capitalize these letters... it wouldnt work and i was getting errors until i changed it to "http". now everything works fine (stupid error... lazy coding... dumb dumb dumb).

Hey Chad! Thanks for sharing your solution with us. The URL protocol "http" shouldn't be case insensitive according to RFC3986. I'll have to look into this.

Virtualdj Radio Club Zone

VirtualDj Radio is my favorite music station. Lately, I am not getting song tag information and I don't understand why. It is very important to me to visually see what song is being played.


Here are two links I found to tune in.

Song information is able to be seen using the website interface, but not Xiaa live. Please help.

It is not Xiialive problem, because this radio station does not support metadata. VLC could also not get the song tag infomation. Contact them for help.

Headset button not working

My bluetooth headset play/pause button does not work in XiaaLive (2.2.4 lite).
Enabling XiiaLive as the default player for media control has no effect on the problem. Other music players are working fine with my headset. Uninstalling all other music players (including the default one in the os) have no effect on the problem either.

I am running android 4.0.3 (official) on Nexus s

I have written a little android app to test some things out, and figured out the following, I hope it helps:

My headset play/pasuse button seems to send this 2 KeyEvents:

Perfect! Thanks for taking the time to investigate! So, the keys you are getting aren't supported by the app... But no worries I have just updated it and should be part of the next update we are doing very soon!

Hey! We will be adding support for opus on our next release. FFMpeg seems to have added it so it should hopefully be easy to include. Update will be release this soon month.

What are the advantages of FFMpeg and Android stream engines?

I do not know the point of choosing between FFMpeg and Android.

Is one more efficient than the other? Does one suffer from fewer problems?

Which stream engine should I chose, and why?

I have both Pro and Beta installed, if that makes any difference.

I'm using Android 4.4.2 on Nexus 5, not rooted. Thank you.

Great questions! Our main goal at the moment is to push our XiiaLive Beta FFmpeg stream engine out to XiiaLive and XiiaLive Pro as default. The version of FFmpeg stream engine that we use on XiiaLive Beta is completely different than what is available on XiiaLive and XiiaLive Pro. It is fast, smart and solid!

Here are some of the main differences between Android and FFmpeg stream engines.

Android
It uses hacks to get radio streaming to work on Android. This causes various limitations for us and cross device compatibility is not great. It doesn't allow us to optimize every single corner of the radio streaming process.

FFmpeg
It uses open source code which allows the app to support just about every single popular audio format available on the internet. It is also the best stream engine available in the world. Yes, we are very pumped about the quality we are bringing in. :)

Needs to be quiet while using speech to text

While traveling I will often make use of speech you text to make communication less distracting.... But XiiaLive doesn't shut up when it needs to, so the speech to text works efficiently... Pandora works lively for this, XiiaLive should too.

Thanks for your feedback. I haven't tried using the text to speech feature while streaming. I definitely see this as an issue. I'll investigate to see how I can resolve this issue.

Buttons in the player are too sensitive

Buttons are too sensitive in Classic Dark theme. In developer mode, I enabled "Show layout bounds" and i see you make the buttons area to long. Can you remove the 'padding' thing and make it margin area between buttons instead, like you did make margin area between share and 3 dots buttons?
