ffmpeg streaming engine efficiency
Just wanted to congratulate you on the XiiaLIve 3.0.0 release... its has significantly improved the usability and performance of the application, especially when listening to AAC+ streams. However I do have a question... I know the ffmpeg streaming engine is still very new (may even be beta status yet), but are there any plans to improve its efficiency? Right now, if I try to use it on an eaac+ stream it pegs the CPU on my phone (100%), causing jittery audio and slowing everything on the phone down big time. My phone is an LG Optimus V...
We are almost ready to release the latest stream engine. It should be a lot more optimized and will have some newer features. The release will be announced on our social media accounts.
timed "Favorite Station" launch
Have been searching for hours and can't find info on making Tasker (or the like) launch a "Favorite Station" at a certain time. Is this really so difficult?
Are you trying to set an alarm to trigger a station to start up? If so you can go into settings and go into Alarms. There scroll all the way down and tap on add alarm.
I can't get filters to work
I can't see any drop down menu in Search function. How can I filter results by bit rate
Hello James,
Filters are currently supported when using the SHOUTcast directory (How to use search filters). Our default directory UberStations unfortunately does not support filters.
We're working on showing filter options for landscape view.
Thanks.
grayed out button
There are various places were we have the favorite button. Please let us know at what page you are talking about. It is a bit hard to know which particular button you are talking about. Thanks! :)
media server crash
Hi, whenever a notification kicks in (plays an alert sound) during the playing of a stream, XiiaLive Pro notifies me that the media server died, it plays then the notification alert, and then it reconnects to the stream again. Can you manage to just lower the sound for the amount of time the notification alert plays its sound, and then again play the stream further, without disconnecting from the stream and killing the media server?
Besides that you can change the sound fxs or even disable them by going to XiiaLive->Settings->Sound. Then change the Volume and Recover volume under Notifcations.
We are currently finishing up our latest stream engine which is very smart and optimized for various scenarios. Should be by far our most solid work.
album art still missing...
I have just bought tunein radio because I got tired of waiting 9 months for promised album/fan art with no apparent progress.
Pity...

Start XiiLive with Voice Commands
First off all - many thanks - you did really good work. Only small problem with starting your App with Voice Commands (in Samsung Galaxy eg SIII MINI - S-Voice feature using Goggle voice recognition). I can say eg.: START Radio, Stop RADIO but how to speak up name of your App that phone could recognize that? Is it possible to rename the App (maybe somewere in the system) in such way that I could start it using voice command? (very usefull when I use headphones). Thanks in advance.
connection drops connected to buffer size of Pro ?

Beta Version Alarm stopped working.
From here in anybody reading this, I am referrering to the beta version which has no reflection on the released version which works fine for me.
Using the beta version 3.0.0.02 with the original still installed, but not active I had a forced close on the beta version.
That's no biggie as it happened once and has not done so again (sort of).
I have had the phone 'hang' and needed to power off and on again to get the appication going again. That's happened a couple of times.
I noted the same folder/file is used to backup station lists and was easliy able to restore my station list to the Beta version.
I was able to set an alarm from the existing favorites and continued tooling around with the rest of the options and settings.
Stopping and starting streams and changing settings I had another hang on the phone.
So decided to remove my existing XiiaLive 2.2.4 version and the Beta version and then just reinstall the Beta version.
Thinking this may remove any conflicts the two apps may have. if any at all.
I now noted I still had an alarm set with no XiiaLive install. I couldn't find any access point to remove the alarm.
Reinstalled Beta and the alarm didn't re-appear in the Beta application but still indicated being set in the notification bar on the Android screen.
Cleared XiiaLive Beta application data and cache, uninstalled the Beta version again and restarted my phone.
OK the alarm icon is removed and the alarm is not seen in the default 'clock' settings.
Re-install the Beta application, but now I can't set an alarm, it just gives an error "Alarm failed to be scheduled!"
The default Android clock alarm still works fine.
Sorry, I don't have a blow by blow breakdown of what I did, it was more like Wooowww new..woooww shiney.. I'll bash it with my fingers and see what it does... and that's what happened.
So, any thought's on how one would restore the alarm functionality in the current Beta version on a non-rooted phone?
Thanks for the long and informative feedback. Yes, it has been a while since this was posted however we did work on this particular issue. The current official release should have the alarm issues resolved. We had to re-write them completely cause they were giving too many issues. Again thanks for your feedback and sorry for replying such an old post... :/
