Equalizer error "Unable to initialize sound FXs"

Maxxx 11 years ago in Android / Equalizer updated by Jona (Lead Developer) 9 years ago 2
Hi, I'm using XiiaLive Pro version 3.0.22 on a Droid 4 w/ Jelly Bean. the main reason i got the player was the equalizer, which used to work great. however, now I get the error message "Unable to initialize sound FXs" and the equalizer isn't working anymore. any idea what's going on? thx

Answer

Please try restarting your device. This generally fixes the issue. The EQ might break if XiiaLive is ever forced killed by task killer applications. The EQ is a feature provided by Android and when it breaks it is a OS issue.  That is why we are looking into creating our own EQ that should never break :)

Alarm volume

ipuertas 11 years ago updated by Jona (Lead Developer) 11 years ago 2

I have a question about the alarm volume. When I set an alarm (time, station, etc.), and set the volume at 30%, for example, and I set the mobile master volume for multimedia sounds at 20% (aprox.); at morning when alarm is triggered, always it starts to play the station at full volume, ie, at 100%; but it isn't the internal XiiaLive volume (this one keeps at setting prior value -30% for example-); it's the master mobile volume which appears at 100% in this case. is it a normal behavior?

Answer
Jona (Lead Developer) 11 years ago

The default behavior for alarm's volume is that the master media volume for the device is always set to 100% to avoid the alarm from not being heard.

If you have the internal volume setting as OFF then the master media volume is simply set at the volume percent chosen for the alarm.

Hope it made sense! :)

EQ on Xiialive Pro

Brad Nielsen 10 years ago 0
I have the pro version installed on my Galaxy S4 Verizon phone with 4.3. When enabling the EQ with a shoutcast stream the audio shuts off. It keeps playing but no output. I then disable the EQ and it comes right back.

Umlaute station name

Peter 10 years ago updated by Jona (Lead Developer) 10 years ago 0
It does not display Umlaute, like ü in Zürich, in the station name.
The three screen shots are:
XiiaLive Pro, FFMpeg streaming (wrong)
XiiaLive Pro, Android streaming (correct)
XiiaLive Beta, FFMpeg streaming (wrong, yet different)
Character encoding settings have been automatic, but UTF-8 gives the same result.

This has been an issue with older versions of GooglePlay. I hope the issue was resolved.

Malicious Ads Displayed Within Xiialive

Razvan Terenche 11 years ago updated by Jona (Lead Developer) 11 years ago 0

Hi there,

Xiialive application recently started displaying malicious ads through the adware framework it uses. I just couldn't find any way to report these ads or mark them as malicious.

I attached a screenshot with it. The UI is in Romanian and the malicious ad at the bottom says: "Detected (1) virus! Scan and remove now! "

Best regards,

Razvan

Bluetooth won't work and can't connect to AAC

Make sure you first pair your bluetooth device to your phone. It should be somewhere like >settings >wireless & networks >bluetooth settings. Once the device is pair to your device, you should see it on Xiialive settings.
>settings >advanced users >bluetooth options

About the aac not working...
What phone and android version do you have?
Try turning the internal stream engine by going to >settings >advance users
The internal engine is in beta state so it might work great for you or it might have some issues.
Currently the track artist/title isn't shown but we should have an update, hopefully, this month that will fix that.

If you haven't already, first pair your device with your phone. You can do this by going to your phones settings and then pressing on "wireless & networks".

Once your device is paired up with your phone, you can use it with Xiialive.

First go to >settings >advaced users >bluetooth optioins.

If your device was successfully connected to your phone it will show up there.

You can then press it for more options.
