Some aac+ stereo streams not decoding properly

Matthew Osborne 13 jaar geleden bijgewerkt door Jona (Lead Developer) 11 jaar geleden 1
I have an LG Optimus V phone running Android 2.2.1, and have installed XiiaLive beta and the latest version on the market.  I've noticed that, when playing lower bitrate aac+ stereo audio streams using the internal stream engine, they only play back in mono.  I know the internal stream engine is only a beta release, but this is something your team may want to look at.  Here are two streams that illustrate this issue:

Support for http auth streams?

Morten Børnes 13 jaar geleden bijgewerkt door Jona (Lead Developer) 12 jaar geleden 12 1 dubbel

I run a private icecast2 server that I would like to stream on my android phones using xiialive.

But xiialive does not seem to support http auth url's?

When I input http://username:password@streaming.url it just says unauthorized.

And when I input it without username and password it does not ask for a username and password.

The stream itself works fine in vlc/winamp for windows and in winamp for android.

Would love this to be implemented as xiialive is my favourite streaming client for android.

Hello, I was wondering if you guys were planning on supporting https streams? A radio I listen to only has https streams and I get this error when trying to stream it:

Last.FM scrobbling broken

André Evertz 12 jaar geleden bijgewerkt door Jona (Lead Developer) 12 jaar geleden 9

Hi,

since the last Version I noticed a bug with Last.FM scrobbling. When I listen to music it shows up the Last.FM App scrobbling Icon but the scrobbling history of my Last.FM profile is not up to date. It only tracks the music i listened from my pc but not the music i listened on my HTC with XiiaLive.

What I noticed: My Last.FM profile shows up the current song that XiiaLive is playing, but the history of the last played songs is never updated with XiiaLive scrobbles.

I don´t know if this is a Last.FM bug or a bug from XiiaLive.

Thanks for your good App btw.

Device: HTC One X

Android: 4.1.1

Release v3.0.1.2 contains a much improved last.fm scrobble support.

The main reason why scrobbling wasn't working was do to a bug in the last.fm app.  In order to get it to scrobble working again you must turn off AVRCP metadata feature on XiiaLive. Simply go to Settings->App Control and set AVRCP metadata to OFF.

Add 10 second skip option to next/prev buttons

David 7 jaar geleden bijgewerkt 7 jaar geleden 1

The progress bar works well for moving through 60 minutes of cached music, but it doesn't work well for talk radio stations. I often want to skip back 10 or 15 seconds to hear something I missed, then skip forward later... Could this be added to the configuration options for the pro version?

Info about Artist (lyrics, album maybe some photo)

Krzysztof Byszewski 12 jaar geleden bijgewerkt door Jona (Lead Developer) 11 jaar geleden 2

Hi

I am big fan of internet radios. I already have 5 apps and constantly looking into perfect one and you almost there :)

I use android 4.1.2 tablet at home to manage them and my prefer display is landscape mode.

My suggestions:

- Obligatory put a poster of the current artist when it's playing (just like Tunein radio app) if poster is not available then poster of radio station.

- fetch lyrics - TuneWiki app is doing this very good and the way they display it in landscape mode is perfect!

- fetch other artist info like albums etc, maybe some small wiki addon on separate screen

- this is crazy but... have a look in youtube for video clip if it exist for what is played right now in case I want to see it (you might have it in more info section that initially is not displayed)

- ability to record station (or is it already there?) and scheduled recording would be veeery cool!

- cool & not necessary: visualization like winamp PC version has so either small one as part of info or full screen one (phones and tablets getting more and more powerful) and you can make it as addon on market so not need to buff the standard version.

- quick access to favorite stations (I usually switch between 4) If you concern about lack of display space then have them available like menu in the landscape mode but from left side (keep menu on right)

- skins as addons - make it easy to create your own skin. You will be blown away by what users can do for you for free ;)

- cool & not necessary: remember streams of last 3 stations. I love the way you visually display what is played and how you can swipe through stream but sometimes I switch to other station to check what they play and when I switch back the stream info is gone. Would be great to keep it specially if I already have like 30 min in a buffer?

- display station schedule  what's coming in 10 min etc if info available from radio station (like on tunein website althou their app don't show it - shame)

Thanks guys and you're my favorite radio app!

All the best to all your team!

Thanks for the extensive set of suggestions!

Here are some of the answers to your suggestions.

- Would love to have album art, it just costs a lot of money but we are already thinking on how to resolve that.

- Lyrics is a nice touch but as of now all our resources are set to improve streaming stability and UI development. However, this feature hopefully can be added in the near future.

- Great idea. Having more details about what is playing would be nice feature to have.

- Great idea. Currently you can click a history song item or a tag item this shows you can option to search. The search allows you to select youtube.

- This is an option we already started thinking about :) specially for tablets.

- Interesting idea. Again this is a great option specially for tablets.

- Skins is something I would like to expand on.  I need someone with that experience to help out! :)  I would love to allow developers to create skins for xiialive!

- This is interesting idea. Since radios are live it would be a bit hard to resume a previously played station without hearing gaps or skips in the audio.  I think having a preview option, to allow previewing a station without stopping what you are playing could possibly be a good option.

- TuneIn has a great directory and set of information. This data we don't have with SHOUTcast directory. Maybe in the near future we will have this info.

Again thanks for all your feedback and ideas!

How to add an Icecast radio station to your search?

-2299 14 jaar geleden bijgewerkt door Jona (Lead Developer) 11 jaar geleden 1
First, I should say I like Xiia Live very much, it's the only player i've found which supports cyrillic meta-data.
I'm running an Icecast radio and so can't be listed in Shoutcast directory. Why don't you add aditional directories, like http://dir.xiph.org? Or may be there are some other solutions for me?

Add support for Simple Last.fm Scrobbler

marc 13 jaar geleden bijgewerkt door Jona (Lead Developer) 13 jaar geleden 0
Simple Last.fm Scrobbler is a very small and battery friendly last.fm scrobbler. It would be nice if you could support it in addition to the original Last.fm app.

How to enable support for it:

Is it possible the app could automatically play a stream when started?

Anoniem 14 jaar geleden bijgewerkt door Jona (Lead Developer) 14 jaar geleden 1
Would love to use it as a clock radio of a morning. No problem getting the app to start automatically, but having problems getting it to automatically play a stream.

Thanks for the consideration!

Currently it is not possible to start up the app and get music going right away... It is a great idea and we will add it to our list! :) Alarm clock is also something we like to get going in the near future...
