bug in broadcast Intent API in new version
In particular this affect the integration of XiiaLive with BubbleUPnP where playing a new station will always play's the first station stream that was played due to the "url" extra not being updated.
From Android dev site:
"Allows an application to broadcast sticky intents. These are broadcasts whose data is held by the system after being finished, so that clients can quickly retrieve that data without having to wait for the next broadcast."
http://developer.android.com/reference/android/Manifest.permission.html#BROADCAST_STICKY
We used to use it but have removed it since in reality we didn't really need it.
Buffer cannot be adjusted for icecast streams
Hello,
I have a samsung vibrant running 2.2 but my problem is with 2.3.
I have a police scanner that I broadcast using icecast. I also broadcast via radioreference.com (I'm not sure exactly how they serve audio). I listen to my icecast stream in my car.
When I upgrade my rom to a 2.3 based rom (say, cyanogen), xiialive (2.2.4 free) always buffers for 15 seconds of time. I have tried in my icecast settings disabling burst on connect and setting the burst-size to one. Same problem. I broke down and tried a pirated pro version of xiialive (2.1.6) and manually set both buffers to 1000ms and it still buffers for 15 seconds.
What's weird is, when I listen via radioreference (the m3u on this page):http://m.radioreference.com/?feedId=7059 it buffers for about 3 seconds. It's only on my icecast feed http://184.91.43.57:8001/listen.m3u that it has the delay problem. Unfortunately their feed is 16k and mine is 48k.
I will absolutely purchase your app if you can tell me how to fix this (perhaps a config problem on my end?) or that it will be addressed in a future release. I am at my wit's end and have googled the shit out of this problem. I used to use streamfurious but the developer has basically abandoned it, leaving you guys as the last ones standing.
I'm going to include a link to my stream.
I'm begging you, please help me. Tell me something anything that might help.
Thanks so much,
Calvin
Start playing from lock screen doesn't work after a longer pause
Testing scenario is this:
1. Put phone in audio dock and let it play until screen locks (audio dock may be optional)
2. Press pause button on lock screen ---> music pauses
3. Wait for a longer period, say 10-15 minutes
4. wake up phone again and press play button on lock screen ---> nothing happens
Please make usage tracking (Flurry) optional
If you want usage tracking to improve the app (or whatever reasons), please document this somewhere visible for users, list the type of data that is collected and allow users to switch this off.
Doing otherwise, depending on contry, maybe a violation of data privacy acts. Thanks
Thanks for posting about this important topic. We are a tiny company and sometimes it's a bit hard to stay on top of various things... :/ However I'll be working on getting some type of privacy policy and way to turn off this feature if desired by the user.
Mean while for all those that wish to opt-out you can do so here:

Amazon
The Amazonapp is there but i cant finde Xiia there ...
Location permission on XiiaLive Pro
Please explain why the latest version of the Pro app wants to know my location.
Local permission has been added now to XiiaLive Pro. The main and only reason is that now you can get your local radio stations based on your coarse location.
For more details about how the permissions are used please see:
Switching between Stations via Home-Screen-Shortcuts does not work
Hello!
Thanks for assistance creating home-screen-shortcuts! I´m so blind ;)
But now I have a other problem.
Normally I select the station via the home-shortcut, the application starts in fullscreen-mode (not so good) and I minimize it with the home-button to the background.
Stopping is easy with the main-widget.
But if I wish to change now the station using the home-shortcut only the app starts in fullscreen with the station selected before and in stopped mode (as I selected from the widget).
Nice would be, if the app would start every time I select a home-shortcut with the station from the shortcut and in background.
Greets
Peter
Thanks for your feedback. Just to make sure I understand your request let me repeat it.
You would like to be able to click on station shortcuts to start playing them without XiiaLive opening the player, correct? If that is the case I have that feature on our to do list. :)
Audio Focus Via Bluetooth
The only way I can get Xiia to work through my bluetooth radio is to activate "Google Voice Search" and exit out of it.
If I have "ignore Audio Focus" selected, Xiialive goes through my radio fine.... however, I really need Audio focus enabled so that Xiialive audio is dimmed when using turn by turn directions. Is there a workaround?
Just to understand the issue... You are saying that using the google navigation is causing XiiaLive to mute its audio and not return while connected to BT? And when not connected to BT the issue doesn't happen?
I bought the paid version
This seems kind of strange since there is not limit to the number of favorites or tagged songs you can have. Maybe you are pressing tagged instead of the add to favorites button (+). Remember, 'tag' is to save the songs info(artist and song title) and (+) is to add the station to your favorites. If that wasn't the problem please send us an email at: visualblasters@gmail.com
