Playlist caching causing playback to fail
Add a new favorite into Xiialive with a URL like this:
http://abc.com/playlist.pls
Where playlist.pls file contains the following stream addresses:
http://server1.abc.com/station.aac
http://server2.abc.com/station.aac
In this case Xiialive will behave correctly, playing the stream from server1. If that address fails, Xiialive will play from server2.
However, suppose later in the day the contents of http://abc.com/playlist.pls has changed to the following because server1 and server2 are down:
http://server3.abc.com/station.aac
http://server4.abc.com/station.aac
Now when the user attempts to play the station Xiialive will have cached the server1 and server2 addresses and still attempt to play them, and playback will therefore fail.
Workaround:
Currently the only workaround I've found is to briefly play a different station (this will flush the cached stream addresses) and then reselect the favourite. This will cause http://abc.com/playlist.pls to be re-downloaded and playback will succeed.
Suggested solution:
Provide a setting toggle to force the playlist to re-downloaded on each playback attempt.
Bluetooth connection issue
After enabling the internal stream engine for the first time i haven't been able to retain Bluetooth connection with my car stereo, it connects and disconnects within 5sec everytime. Same thing happened back in may when this feature was first added with my old T-Mobile MyTouch 4G, and it happen again with the latest update on my new MyTouch 4G. im an very sad because this happens always now, even with internal stream engine disabled. please help this is very annoying.
phone is MyTouch 4G aka HTC Glacier. Android 2.2.1
SHOUTcast searches no longer work
Shoutcast worked right up until I upgraded, so the issue seems to be related to the upgrade.
Please let me know how to make the search work again with Shoutcast?
After a long weekend for us... SHOUTcast has been restored. We hope it continues to work properly and no more shutdown issues arise.
Please note that we are not sure what will be happening on December 20th as it was announced that Winamp and SHOUTcast would be shutdown. Rumors has it that Microsoft will purchase them. I'm really doutting that SHOUTcast will simply be shutdown. So, let's keep our fingers crossed... :(

Local mp3 files playing
Does any xiialive version support the function of regular mp3-player and play local mp3 files now?
Currently we don't support local file playback. But it is something we would like to add very soon!
Do you want XiiaLive to just play local files? Or would you like XiiaLive to show you a list of your device local music?

This issue ended up being a problem with the installed Android version. Simply closing this thread as fixed.
Update 05/16/11:
Please check with the latest update v2.1.8. We have added a new power managing flag that hopefully resolves this issue.

There have been a few improvements in this area which I'm hoping will resolve this issue on update v2.1.9 coming next week.
Bitrate Stream Setting
unable to play mp3 on nexus 7 - error: unexpected stop, fail to connect

I am unable to play mp3 on my nexus 7 tablet (adroid 4.1.2).
When I pick up mp3 file through file explorer and ask top open it using XiiaLite I got message at the bottom:
Fail to connect
Unexpected stop
Internet raio is working and mp3 can be played in other player
When I tried FLAC file I got: service crashed.

actually you can try it, open the mp3 file using some folder explorer app and then select XiiaLive to open it.

On 2.2 app gets into infinite ' stopping' state when stopping premium di.fm or sky.fm streams.
This has been an issue before caused by SHOUTcast and has been resolved. If you are still having issues please let us know.
XiiAlive development dead, off PlayStore , and now (because of security Android changes) gives stupid errors..

Either WE need to find a replacement streaming APP, since I have grown to depend on 'Tag favorite songs' , backup / restore feature. (I still have NOT yet been able to find a replacement) . It Vanished from play store- the developer sucks for not open-sourcing)

Hack, mod, and force XiiaAlive to work without popup errors.
BECAUSE Android is requiring apps to be re-written after Android rev 12+ .
EVERY TIME now Xiialive Pro gives the stupid pop-up error when starting a stream.
"We apologize, XiiaLive Pro was unable to verify your purchase." Error 692274
Only way around is to stop playing that specific stream and 'DISMISS' the stupid error. Not good while driving.
Turns out this is an Android security change over recent years. My phone (Note 20 Ultra- Android 12).
XiiAlive dropped development (and paid customers) without making it open to the public to pick up dev (terrible) hasn't been updated since 2017. If the Developer had sold it to another to rebrand, we would see these features elsewhere. So assuming they just dropped it.
Now I wonder if the 'MyBackup Free' app would have restored everything, thus avoiding the stupid error I'm sure EVERYONE is getting now. If ANYONE NOT getting this error, could make a "MyBAckup Free" backup of XiiAlive and share to test if it works, would be highly appreciated.
I tried "hacking", "Modding" and even forcing it via ADB install (later found out, only works for Android 14 and above, btw)
ANYONE, find a replacement App or a way to get rid of error (Android 12) ???
