Honeycomb & Sensation UI support

Dan Fedida il y a 13 ans mis à jour par Tim M il y a 13 ans 2
Totally love this app - thank you. I have just upgraded to the HTC Sensation and now the UI doesn't fill the screen. Obviously the same is true for Honeycomb tablets! Any chance of an update in the works for different screen sizes?
Solution
Tim M il y a 13 ans

We have just received our qHD phone so that we can fix the issue with the app not filling up the whole screen on larger phones. That should be fixed on the next update.

With the tablets though, its a little more difficult.
The graphics just don't work very well with the larger screens on the tablets. We need to make a new design (which we do have planned for the future).

Android 3.2 does have an option to stretch the app to fill the whole screen though (kind of like the ipad). More and more tablets should be getting the 3.2 update soon.

Proxy address option in player

Erwin de Heus il y a 12 ans mis à jour par Munna Chaudhary il y a 4 ans 5

I'm using the Xiialive player with pleasure on my android Samsung phone, but I miss an option for filling in a proxy server address. That would be very handy for stations who I can't receive outside the US. I hope you can add this function in a new update.

Thanks for the request.  It is very interesting one and will look into this.

I have set a poll for two options for adding proxy support. Please vote or share your comment which one you believe is better.

Thanks for your feedback. We are currently working on a new stream engine that will pause playback during a phone call.

Thanks for your feedback! Now you can use UberStations directory on XiiaLive to get your local stations. Also, there is an EQ available.

Inferior sound quality with AAC+ streams on Gingerbread 2.3.3 (HTC Desire)

Danny Bergsma il y a 13 ans mis à jour par Jona (Lead Developer) il y a 13 ans 3
I use XiiaLive to listen to local Dutch (web) radio stations. As low bitrate (64kbps) stream, they all only offer an AAC+ one. Unfortunately, the sound quality of these streams is inferior. I know Froyo (2.2) had a similar issue, but as I use Gingerbread, I'm not sure if my issue is the same as Froyo's one. When I turn on the internal stream engine, the sound gets better, but is still not as good as it should be; maybe because XiiaLive states that the AAC+ streams are decoded as 1ch instead of 2ch?

Since OpenCORE is no longer part of Gingerbread, I can't deactivate Stagefright (and activate OpenCORE) by editing the build.prop file.

My device is a (rooted) HTC Desire (Bravo), running (original HTC) Gingerbread (2.3.3).

These AAC+ streams sound inferior:

http://livestreams.omroep.nl/npo/aac/3fm_alternative.pls

How can I get good sound quality with AAC+ streams on XiiaLive?

Why is it I used to be able to use another app while listening but now Xiia Player stops after 5 seconds? Forcing me to not use any other app.

Brandon Lee il y a 11 ans mis à jour par Jona (Lead Developer) il y a 8 ans 2
Even when I press the Xiia's link to Shop, after a few seconds of my internet browser opening to take me to Xiia's "Shop" page, my player stops and on the top of my Galaxy S4s notification bar I'm notified from Xiia, "No Network Available" whereas it didn't used to happen for months. I made sure within my phone's "Developer Options" I allow all background "activities" to run so nothing on my phone is closing this app. Please someone promptly respond correctly so I can know how to keep my player connected while I am using another app such as listening to my fav talk radio, Elvis Duran and the Morning Show while I'm online searching for the best online college to earn an Information Technology degree which I will also appreciate a suggestion

Thanks for your post. This is an odd issue were it seems like your device is not providing internet access to background apps? Do you have any app battery optimizers or virus protection apps on your device?

Can you reproduce the issue and do a bug report right after? Go to Xiialive->Settings and at the bottom hit "Bug Report". With that hopefully we can see if it is an issue with the app. Otherwise might be an issue with your device.

auto resume

Rafal il y a 9 ans mis à jour il y a 9 ans 6

xiialive pro dose not resume stream after loosing it during car driving even with all retry setings on. Why ?

Solution
Rodrigo (Developer) il y a 9 ans

The "No network access" happens when you try to connect to a station and there is no network access. There will be no retry after that error.

So what is happening in your case is that the network connection is lost while you are streaming. Then the connection never returns and the stream engine times out trying to reconnect because the network was never restored. This causes the retry logic to kick in. It tries to connect again and "No network access" is returned causing the retry logic to end.

The smart recovery waits a generous 2 minutes and while it waits for it you will see "Waiting for network access".

I'll look into adding a setting to make the smart recovery timeout customizable.

Hope that helps!

After BT disconnection app persists in background consuming traffic

Morta Della il y a 10 ans mis à jour par Jona (Lead Developer) il y a 10 ans 4
This may be a duplicate of "Stream doesn't stop correctly after bluetooth disconnect" but my request is a bit different.
My plan has some traffic limit, and the "overdraft" is expensive.
I use the app in my car. When I turn the engine off, app stops playing but some sort of widget is present  in notification area. Traffic control shows me that XiiaLive continues to consume data. This ends only when I touch the closing "X" control on notification widget.
Looks like app is continuously buffering data in order to resume playback without re-connection. This may be nice, but not in limited networks.
This looks like a bug for me.
Phone is Sony Xperia E3. I cannot tell you the application version, as I found no place where it is shown) Installed from Google market 18-march-2015, Pro version.
Solution
Jona (Lead Developer) il y a 10 ans
Hey guys, I think the potential issue here is that the bluetooth device seems to be sending a pause playback event to XiiaLive. This causes XiiaLive to be in the paused state. While on the paused state XiiaLive will continue to download the live radio content. Playback must be stopped by pressing the stop button on the player or using the X button on the notifications widget.

A quick solution to this issue and keep things easy to use, is to set up a bluetooth trigger to stop playback when bluetooth disconnects.

Here is how to do that.
