Keep Stream Cache Until Station Change

orconomix 8 years ago updated 8 years ago 2

Hello.

I would like to suggest to make the stream cache in such way that if when one presses the stop button or one gets a phone call it does not have any effect on the downloaded cache.

The cache should be only cleaned when one changes the radio station.

Currently if one presses the stop button it erases the downloaded cache , the only way to keep the cache is to press the pause button .

The cache is also automaticaly erased if one gets a phone call and one doesn't pick up the phone but not erased if one gets a phone call and picks up the phone and then hangs up.

It was a great feature making the cache not being erased when XiiaLive goes into data guard mode , it would be pretty nice if the downlaoded cache would be more persistant than it is now.

I would like to listen to some pre-cached radio while i have no access to WIFI , but i am always afraid of losing the cache because of XiiaLive being stopped by any event on the phone and losing the cache.

Thanks in advance

Hey if you are feeling adventurous... ;) you can actually add the station to UberStations directory.

"Adding a radio station to UberStations directory is the easiest and quickest way to make it available to all XiiaLive users. All you need is a valid URL and some details about the radio station. Please go here for more information."

Chrome OS Support

Julien Humbert 9 years ago updated by Ralph 8 years ago 2 1 duplicate
I would love to see XiiaLive officialy supported on ChromeOS with the Android Runtime for Chrome.
I already voted for it on : https://docs.google.com/forms/d/10mlIGJq2ENubhkvTJYk11ujckA8t-RYx06qr61EPI_g/viewform

I'm actually using it with the official runtime and the uploaded APK from my Android and it works flawlessly, so I hope to see it coming.

XiiaLive Lite auto-starts on certain events

Syph 13 years ago updated by Jona (Lead Developer) 13 years ago 0
When performing certain tasks in android, the XiiaLive Lite app launches by itself...

Note: Media Controls are set to OFF

I've noticed one specific thing that guarantees the XiiaLive Lite app to launch; Plugging in the headset that came with my Galaxy S, followed by pressing the headset button (which starts the MP3 player). The app just runs in the background and only shows up in the "running app" list so its not that big of a burden, but I just figured it's not supposed to do this, hence my feedback :)

Recoding Radio Streams (not Shoutcast)

Ralph W 14 years ago updated by Jona (Lead Developer) 13 years ago 3
Is it possible to record Radio-Streams?
No Shoutcast-Stations, but real Radio stations like einslive (http://gffstream.ic.llnwd.net/stream/gffstream_stream_wdr_einslive_a)
Thanks!

It definitely is possible and we would like to provide this option. But I would have to research a little more about the subject since we are a small company and don't want to get in trouble... :) Thanks for the feedback, we are planning on something in the area of your suggestion. I can't say what it is but it definitely will be a cool feature!

Quit button?

H MAN 13 years ago updated by Tim M 13 years ago 1
Hello there,
Am I completely blind, or is there no "quit" button to shutdown the program completely?

If there is, where is it?
If there isnt, can you add one please?

I'd trust your XiiaLive Pro program far more if I could quit it when I'm done using it.

Thanks :)

Alarm bug perhaps?

Jonathan Middleton 12 years ago updated by Jona (Lead Developer) 11 years ago 0

I've used Xiialive since my first smart phone but have just started using the radio both on old phone and new phone and have come across I guess its a bug or something as the player looks like its caught in a loop as it says its connecting and something about a building playlist but it never connects and just keeps going and going even turning the phone off does not stop the cycle and tends to use loads of battery and heats the phone up. I could not even get anywhere to kill the app itself as anything I clicked took me back to the Xiia app and only after a lot of trying to force it to stop I managed it but whats going on with it?

The alarms feature has been completely redesigned internally and should be a lot more efficient and reliable.  Could you confirm this issue no longer happens with the latest release v3.0.1.2?

PREVIOUS POST

Please reproduce the issue and while it's happening you could collect the logs. That should help me see what could be going on.

Here is how to collect the logs:

tunein import

charliebrown 12 years ago updated by Jona (Lead Developer) 11 years ago 1
Is there any possibility of adding import of radio stations from tunein? I am using xiia and tunein simultaneously now, because not all stations are available in shoutcast library that xiia uses, and i have a feeling that searching is easier in tunein (i.e. by station language). To be honest it is one of few things that is holding me back from using xiia exclusively on my phone (alarm clock function is one of the others).
Answer
Jona (Lead Developer) 12 years ago
Thanks for your feedback!  Yes, we do realize SHOUTcast directory is not as complete and we are working on a few ideas to resolve that.

I don't think it's possible to import stations from TuneIn, however, in the mean time you could go to vtuner.com and find your station there.  Than you will be prompted to open it with XiiaLive.  Save it as a favorite and you are set! :)

New huge update is to be release soon! Alarm feature will be included on this release :).
